How to Convert Adsense check into cash in Bangladesh

Adsense is a great way to have some extra income in Bangladesh, isn't it? But as we don't have options on taking payments through western union, we can receive payments only via banks. Here is details on converting your Adsense check:

• You can convert your Adsense check from any commercial bank in Bangladesh.
  
• Make sure that the payee name in your Adsense account and your bank account name is identically the same. Otherwise you won't be able to convert it.
•  The bank will take 3/4 weeks to convert your check.
• Shockingly, the fee banks take for conversion is very high - almost $80* in total. However, this $80 fee is fixed for any amount of conversions no matter if it's $140 or $10,000!
  *Actually the service fee depends on 2 factors:
  
  
  • From where your check is sent [which bank and which branch/state]
  • What is the contract of your local bank [here in Bangladesh] with the sender bank [in the USA]. It determines how much money they will charge when a check is converted.
  • How much your local bank charges as service fee.
  
  So, it may vary widely from bank to bank. The difference often becomes significantand your total cost to convert the check may vary widely between $25-$80.
  

Now, here is a bit of my first experience...

I received $144 check from Adsense. As I wanted to convert it to cash from Dutch Bangla Bank Limited (I've account there on my name), I was told that it would require $50 + 2000TK total service charge to convert it to cash. And it would also take 45 days. They explained that Citi bank N.A. in the USA [from where the check was issued] would charge $50 and DBBL would charge TK 2000 for service.

Later, I decided to convert check only after I receive $500 earnings. So I always hold my payments until they reach $500.
